Bedroom Lighting

Good bedroom lighting does two jobs: it needs to work for getting dressed in the morning, and it needs to help you switch off at night. Ceiling lights, bedside pendants or lamps, and wall lights each play a different part – most bedrooms need at least two of the three working together.

Our bedroom range covers solid brass and hand-glazed ceramic pieces from Mullan Lighting in Ireland, alongside contemporary designs in wood, concrete and steel from Sollux in Poland. Both are built to proper standards, not the disposable imports found on the high street.

Ceiling Lights – flush mounts, semi-flush fittings and chandeliers for overall room lighting. Choose flush or semi-flush for lower ceilings, or a statement pendant-style chandelier where you have the height.

Pendant Lights – Can be hung either side of the bed, or as a statement peice. Pendants free up bedside table space entirely and create a symmetrical, considered look. Best suited to standard or higher ceilings.

Bedroom Chandeliers

Statement Pendant Light

Wall Lights – the simplest way to add reading light without taking up surface space. Fixed sconces add ambient light; adjustable arm versions let you direct light exactly where you need it.

Children’s & Nursery Lights – softer, playful designs suited to younger bedrooms, including our Teddy Bear range.

Bedside Table Lamps – the classic choice, and still the easiest to swap or update as your room changes. Available in brass, ceramic and contemporary finishes.

Choosing Lighting for Your Bed

Double beds suit a matching pair either side of the bed – two pendants, two wall lights, or two table lamps – so each side has its own reading light and the room stays visually balanced.

Single beds need just one bedside light, positioned on whichever side you naturally reach from.

Small bedrooms benefit from wall-mounted or hanging lights over table lamps, since they free up surface space. Flush or semi-flush ceiling fittings work better than larger chandeliers in a compact room.

Larger bedrooms usually need more than one light source to fill the space properly – central ceiling lighting plus bedside lighting plus at least one accent piece, such as a table lamp on a dresser.

Brass, Ceramic or Contemporary?

Solid brass from Mullan brings warmth and character, and develops a natural patina over years of use. It suits both traditional and contemporary bedrooms – aged or antique finishes lean period, polished brass sits well in a cleaner modern room.

Hand-glazed ceramic pieces add colour and texture, with genuine one-off variation from the glazing process. Good for a bedroom where you want a piece of lighting to double as decoration.

Contemporary designs from Sollux in wood, concrete and steel suit minimalist or modern bedrooms, where a clean material or form does the work rather than ornamentation.
