Kitchen Pendant Lights

Pendant lights are the most visible fitting in a kitchen — they define the character of the room as much as any design choice. The range here covers the full spread from large statement pendants over an island or dining table through to smaller single pendants suited to clusters over a breakfast bar.

The brass and glass pendants are all handmade in Ireland by Mullan Lighting. The Rio, Telal, and Alma are factory-shade pendants in antique brass — the Rio available in both classic brass and a wide choice of powder-coated colours. The Matlock is a large 50cm vintage factory shade, substantial enough to make a genuine statement over a wide island. The Brussels is even larger at 75cm — a fitting that commands the room. The Marlow and Raze are cage pendants — open brass frames rather than solid shades, which let the bulb read clearly and suit industrial and loft-style kitchens. The Ardle and Vienna are more contained industrial factory forms. The Ypres is a classic angled factory shade.

For glass, the Schoolhouse uses an opal glass shade in the 1920s schoolhouse form — a perennial choice for kitchen and pub settings. The Jam Jar and Milk Bottle use literal glass vessels as shades, which works particularly well in kitchens where the honest material reference makes sense. The Bousta, Blaenau, London, and Essence are Holophane prismatic glass pendants — the moulded glass refracts light to give warm, even illumination without glare, and the railway glass shade form has been used in kitchens and commercial spaces for over a century.

The modern Sollux pendants cover concrete (Afra, Borgio, Luvo, Pablito), ceramic (Bukano, Pavlus), and geometric forms (Umberto, Umb, Tulip, Taleja). The Karbon pendant uses the same corrugated tube design as the Karbon ceiling and wall lights. The Lagos is a three-arm multi-pendant in black or olive green — three light sources from a single ceiling point, practical for longer islands and dining tables. Wooden pendants include the Aprilla, Gotto, and Woody.

All Mullan lights are assembled to order in Ireland — allow 15–21 working days (4–6 weeks for ceramic fittings). Sollux lights are often in stock, or 5- 10 days.
